IMG_5321 IMG_5322 IMG_5338The Urban Decay ‘Naked on The Run’ Face palette was one of my new purchases in January. I actually hadn’t seen much on it but when I went to an Urban Decay counter in House of Fraser I could’t help myself and fall in love with it. The packaging is the standard Urban Decay ‘naked’ collection packaging with warm golden neutral tones. The main reason I got this palette was because it had something for everything. It has five new shadows, a mascara, a bronzer, blush, highlighter, eyeliner and a lipgloss. Something I thought was perfect for travelling. I’m going to be taking a few trips this year and instead of carrying about a zillion palettes I want something that has everything.

IMG_5344 IMG_5348My first impressions when I first opened the palette was how wowed I was by the set of new shadows – the colours all neutrals had the right amount of shimmers and mattes to create a variety of looks. Neutrals are the only set of shadows I tend to wear on an everyday basis, so for me these set of colours were ideal for me. The blush I thought was a bit too pink for my liking but I’ve actually been wearing it quite a lot. I tend to use a delicate hand and tap off the excess on the back of my hand before applying it to get nice set of rosy cheeks. In terms of bronzer (I know it looks a bit scary but when you blend it, it’s great!) and highlighter both colours have great pigmentation and are great for contouring. I’m not an expert at it but I’m enjoying the effects these two colours have when I apply them. One thing I would say is that I could do with the highlighter having a bit more shimmer – sometimes I find myself using another product on top to create more of a glow. In terms of the eyeliner – it’s one of Urban Decay’s 24/7 glide on eye pencils in the colour ‘Stag’. Although I wear eyeliner on an every day basis I haven’t found one that I swear by. However this one by Urban Decay is very soft on the lash line and I find it doesn’t rub off an hour or two later. I have quite watery eyes so often my lower lash line eyeliner tends to disappear throughout the day.

Sorry for the really bad quality swatches!

As you can see from this picture the colours of the blush and bronzer don’t look too terrifying and I swatched them so they would proper show up on my hand. My arms are a quite a bit darker than my face. The shadows like all urban decay shadows are super buttery and pigmented – especially their shimmers. They are a dream on the eyelid. My favourite colours and probably the ones I’ve been reaching more for are Dive and Resist. Dive is like a rose gold toned taupe that I love using on the inner corners and under my lower lash line. Resist is like a a shimmery brown taupe that I could wear everyday without getting bored either on the crease of the lid or all over it.

This swatch is so small what was even the point!

IMG_5361 IMG_5364The two remaining products are the lipgloss and the mascara. I’m not lipgloss girl because I hate the whole stickiness of them so unfortunately this lipgloss has that problem. The colour ‘Sesso’ I love – it’s a dark nude, but with the weather being quite windy at the moment my hair tends to stick to the gloss all the time and I find that quite annoying. The mascara is Urban Decay’s ‘Perversion’ – I think it’s quite good although it has quite a wet formula so I have to wait for the brush to dry a bit before I apply it to my lashes otherwise it ends up all over my face. It’s definitely very black and it adds nice volume to my lashes however it lacks a bit on length but overall a mascara I would probably use again.

So here you have it guys, my first beauty review in months. I hope you found it some sort of help if you’re looking to buy this palette or are in the look for something to take travelling with you. I would definitely recommend you buy this palette but maybe stock up on your other lip products!
Love Daniela! xo
